Shielding

At NPO, we deliver shielding solutions formulated from a variety of materials including lead, tungsten, steel and water. Based on your specific conditions, we use different densities and materials to develop engineered ALARA solutions which may key on low-profile, custom shapes, portability and/or high temperature ratings while achieving the desired protection factor. We then integrate the actual shielding material with innovative rack, track and cargo net type deployments to keep does minimal while installing and using the shielding. When the shielding is not in use, we have versatile storage systems designs suitable for the containment building or other locations. This complete solution concept keeps both impact and cost in mind to deliver the maximum value possible with every shielding package.

Application notes on a wide variety of these engineered solutions are available to our registered users. These include reactor head shields, Alloy 600 projects, Rollaway Steam Generator Man-Way Shields, mobile shield racks and pressurizer heater shields.
